JR Hokkaido announced the timetable for the section between Furano and Shintoku stations on the Nemuro Line from the timetable revision on March 16 until the last day of operation on March 31.
Between Furano and Higashishikagoe stations, the schedule currently includes five inbound trains (one of which starts from Ochiai Station) and four outbound trains. After the timetable revision, it will have six inbound trains (same) and five outbound trains. Rapid trains, including the “Kashii,” will be replaced by local trains. The segment between Higashishikagoe and Furano stations will operate as a shuttle service, but the last inbound train on March 31 will run directly from Higashishikagoe to Takikawa Station.
On March 30 and 31, a special express “Furano” will operate one round trip between Sapporo and Furano stations. This service will be all-reserved seating, utilizing the 261 series 5000 Hamanasu trainset. It will only stop at Takikawa Station.
