JTA and RAC Launch Flights with Special ‘World Natural Heritage’ Livery
Japan Transocean Air (JTA) and Ryukyu Air Commuter (RAC) have started operating flights with special ‘World Natural Heritage’ liveries from March 6th.
As part of the World Natural Heritage Promotion and Awareness Project conducted by Okinawa Prefecture, designs from the winning entries of a drawing contest held for elementary and junior high school students in the northern regional municipalities and the Yaeyama region were applied.
A Boeing 737-800 of JTA (aircraft registration: JA12RK) and a DHC-8-Q400CC of RAC (aircraft registration: JA82RC), one each, have been wrapped in these special designs. The inaugural flights were RAC flight number 817 from Okinawa/Naha to Kumejima on March 6th, and JTA flight number 2 from Okinawa/Naha to Osaka/Kansai on March 7th.
