AirAsia X has officially announced the cancellation of the establishment of the Tokyo/Narita to Taipei/Taoyuan route.
This is in accordance with the instructions from the Malaysia Civil Aviation Authority, and there is no prospect of operation as of now. The Malaysian Aviation Commission has granted air traffic rights for the application to operate this route. Initially, the plan was to operate one round trip per day starting May 31, using the Airbus A330 with up to 377 seats.
AirAsia X states, “We regret this situation and would like to offer our sincerest apologies to our customers for the inconvenience caused.” Full refunds will be issued to those who purchased tickets, either to their credit card or Visa debit card.
Other Japan routes operated by AirAsia X will continue to operate as normal.
