Hoshino Resorts will open ‘KAI Okuhida’ on September 5.
The facility consists of two accommodation buildings, a bathhouse, and a separate building. The 49 rooms include open-air bath guest rooms, Japanese-style rooms, and pet-friendly rooms, featuring headboards inspired by the winding shapes of ‘magewappa’ woodworking, wall art by Hida Shunkei, cushions in Hida dye, and chairs from Hida Sangyo with ‘magewappa’ detailing, incorporating local elements. The hotel is equipped with large communal baths, footbaths, and offers a steamy ‘path of hot water’ on the after-bath terrace and in the courtyard.
For dinner, a semi-private dining space offers kaiseki cuisine that utilizes the local food culture. The main dish, “Hida beef wrapped in magnolia leaves,” features Hida beef surrounded by tsuto (bamboo grass), served with magnolia leaves. The accommodation price starts from ¥31,000 per person per night based on double occupancy, including dinner and breakfast, tax, and service charge included.
Access is approximately 4 minutes on foot from Hirayu Bus Terminal, and about 3 minutes by car from the Chubu-jukando Expressway Hirayu Interchange (IC).
