Hankyu and Nose Electric Railway Launch ‘Tom and Jerry’ Collaboration Campaign
Five Bus Operators in Kumamoto Prefecture to Accept Credit Cards and Other Touch Payments, No longer support national transit IC cards
Kyushu Sanko Bus, Sanko Bus, Kumamoto Electric Railway, Kumamoto Bus, and Kumamoto City Bus will cease the use of national transit IC cards and switch to accepting touch payments such as credit cards.
Payment methods will be changed to the Kumamon IC card, credit cards and other touch payments, QR codes, and cash. The service of national transit IC cards will be terminated in mid-December, and the transition to touch payments is planned around March 2025.
The introduction of this new system aims to maintain the superiority of the Kumamon IC card system while accommodating the diversification of payment methods due to the increase in foreign workers and inbound visitors.
