The Modesto Convention & Visitors Bureau held a seminar in Tokyo on May 29th, with CEO Todd Aaronson visiting from the United States.
Located in California’s Central Valley, Modesto is a region known for its thriving agriculture, boasting a significant global market share in almond production. Its blossoms are as popular as sakura (cherry blossoms) in Japan.
The quality of olive oil produced on its fertile lands is exceptionally high, with a tasting session of Sciabica Olive Oil, a company that has won numerous awards at international competitions, also taking place. The extra virgin oil is said to be of twice the quality of regular oils, with efforts made to maintain freshness.
Modesto is a sister city to Kurume City in Fukuoman Prefecture, and in this Japan-US Tourism Year, the relationship is expected to deepen even further.
