H.I.S. will relocate its flagship store, the Shinjuku Head Office, and re-open it as ‘Travel Wonderland Shinjuku’ on June 28.
The concept is ‘PLAY WORLD! A place to encounter exciting journeys,’ aiming to be a store where you can not only book trips but also encounter unexplored “exciting journeys”. It offers a new consulting experience by travel professionals and a space for experiences that cannot be gained online, providing serendipity and excitement.
The flagship store, Shinjuku Head Office, opened on June 1, 1993, as a branch within the headquarters near the south exit of Shinjuku Station. With a size of 65 meters by 22 meters, it became known as “the department store for overseas travel” in Japan, boasting the largest sales floor space without partitions. Approximately 500 people lined up for the opening commemoration fair, making it a topic of discussion.
To commemorate the opening, a ‘Renewal OPEN Event’ will be held from June 29, the day of the grand opening, offering special products and discounts. Highlight products such as a 3-day trip to Seoul or a 4-day trip to Taipei will be available from 19,800 yen (including or excluding fuel surcharges). The event will last until July 15.
Access is about a 1-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station, and about a 4-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line Shinjuku Station.
