Korean Air will discontinue serving ramen as a snack on long-haul flights.
In response to the increasing trend of turbulence, the airline is renewing its in-flight snack service. The decision was made to prevent burns, as the number of turbulence incidents has more than doubled since 2019. Snacks that provide a fuller feeling, such as pizza, will be prepared instead.
In particular, the serving of ramen has frequently led to accidents involving burns from hot water. In economy class, the danger was significant due to the serving of multiple servings at once.
