Kyushu Shinkansen to Suspend Service All Day on the 29th between Kumamoto and Kagoshima-Chuo Station due to Typhoon No. 10
JR Kyushu announced its operational plan for August 28 due to the impact of Typhoon No. 10.
The Kyushu Shinkansen will operate as normal between Hakata and Kumamoto stations, as well as the West Kyushu Shinkansen. For the stretch between Kumamoto and Kagoshima-Chuo stations, the Kyushu Shinkansen will run only up to the “Sakura 406” heading north and “Sakura 563” going south, suspending service from the first train on August 29.
The express trains “Nichirin”, “Nichirin Seagaia”, “Yufu”, and “Hyuga” will only run some trains. “Aso”, “Kyushu Crossing Express”, “Kirishima”, “Asoboy!”, and “Ibusuki no Tamatebako” will all suspend service.
Additionally, services on the Kagoshima Main Line between Sendai and Kagoshima Station, Hisatsu Line, Kitto Line, and Ibusuki Makurazaki Line will be suspended for the entire day. The Nippo Main Line, Kyudai Main Line, Hohi Main Line, Nichinan Line, and Miyazaki Airport Line will all gradually suspend services in the afternoon.
