JAL Offers English Afternoon Tea on Flights from London
Japan Airlines (JAL) will start serving “English Afternoon Tea” on flights from London/Heathrow to Tokyo/Haneda from September.
The service includes two types of scones, plain and with sultana raisins, accompanied by clotted cream, strawberry jam, and Earl Grey tea. A raspberry and white chocolate velvet cake is also added as an accent. The menu is available in First and Business Class as an à la carte option.
JAL commented, “On the flight home from London, we wanted to offer a dish that would give our passengers a last taste of London. We worked together with the catering team at Heathrow Airport to develop this idea into a menu that represents the local flavor.”
As part of efforts to develop and select menus based on the concept of “delicious, healthy, and sustainable food,” the same route also offers gluten-free “Double Chocolate Ice Cream” and a “California Roll” made with an alternative tuna derived from seaweed.
