JR East to Operate Overnight Trains on 7 Lines in the Tokyo Area from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day
Odakyu Suspends Operations All Day Between Isehara and Hadano Stations Due to Landslide, Romancecar Also Out of Service for the Day
Due to the landslide of the embankment caused by Typhoon No. 10, Odakyu Electric Railway will suspend its operations for the whole day today, August 31, between Isehara and Hadano stations.
The heavy rain on the 30th has resulted in the landslide between Tokai University Mae and Hadano stations, and it is expected to take a considerable amount of time to resume operations. The trains are operating at reduced speeds between Soubudai-mae Station and Isehara Station, as well as between Hadano Station and Odawara Station, due to the limited number of trains, and passengers are encouraged to use alternative transportation on other companies’ lines. The Romancecar express service is suspended for the entire day, and the mutual direct operation with the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line has been discontinued.
Refunds for the Romancecar express tickets are being accepted. Alternative transportation is being provided on JR lines, Tokyo Metro, Keio Line, Tokyu Line, and Sotetsu Line, among others.
