JR West and Hiroshima Electric Railway to Operate Wrapping Trains with Interchanged Vehicle Designs from September 20
JR West and Hiroshima Electric Railway, in collaboration with the city of Hiroshima, will start operating wrapping collaboration trains from September 20.
The Hiroshima Electric Railway 5100 series and the JR West 227 series will have their vehicle designs interchanged and wrapped. These special trains will operate across various lines, displaying headmarks adorned with the logos of all three parties. The wrapping will feature the Green Mover Max 5101 of the Hiroshima Electric Railway 5100 class and the A12 formation of the JR West 227 series, each with one formation being implemented.
The operation period for Hiroshima Electric Railway is for the time being, while for JR West, it will continue until the fiscal year 2026. The operation sections cover the Hiroshima Electric Railway No.2 line from Hiroshima Station to Hiroden Miyajimaguchi, the JR Sanyo Main Line from Fukuyama to Shin-Yamaguchi stations, the JR Kure Line from Mihara to Kaidai-shi stations, and the JR Kabe Line from Yokogawa to Aki-Kameyama stations.
