Ekiben-ya Matsuri Launches Online Store, Selling Frozen Train Station Bento
JR East Cross Station Food Company has opened “Frozen Ekiben (train station bento) Ekiben-ya Matsuri” on September 9.
Similar to “Ekiben-ya Matsuri Gransta Tokyo”, it consolidates popular station bento from various regions across Japan from Hokkaido to Kyushu, offering a total of 34 meat and seafood-based products. For online sales, a frozen version of the popular Yonezawa station bento “Gyūniku Doman’naka” was co-developed with Shin Kiya, along with the newly launched “Charcoal-Grilled Beef Tongue Bento” developed by the company.
The store launched on JRE MALL and Rakuten Marketplace, with a national flat-rate shipping fee of 1,500 yen. Shipping is free for purchases over 6,980 yen (tax included).
To celebrate the opening, a “Popular 5-item Ekiben-ya Matsuri Set” is being sold for 4,980 yen (including tax and shipping), a discount from the normal total of 6,900 yen. The set includes “Gyūniku Doman’naka”, “Chicken Bento”, “Charcoal-Grilled Beef Tongue Bento”, “Gyūniku Doman’naka (Curry Flavor)”, and “Aji Pressed Sushi”. As a first-time purchase bonus, the first 250 customers at each store on JRE MALL and Rakuten Marketplace will receive a 500 yen discount coupon, redeemable on purchases over 3,000 yen (tax included).
