TOKI Air Addresses Subsidiary’s Illegal Subsidy Receipt Issue, Says ‘Handling in Accordance with Laws’ after Government Orders Repayment
TOKI Air has issued a statement in response to reports that the Cabinet Office deemed the subsidy received by its related company, TOKI Aviation Capital, for the Sado City Employment Opportunity Expansion Project, as inappropriate, stating that they are handling the matter in accordance with laws.
Asahi Shimbun Digital reported on August 20 that the Cabinet Office is investigating TOKI Aviation Capital for possibly having improperly received about 8 million yen in subsidies, with a full repayment order in sight. It was also reported on September 17 that the Cabinet Office had judged the receipt as inappropriate and ordered the full amount to be returned.
TOKI Aviation Capital received a referral for the subsidy from Sado City and has stated that they are responding in accordance with the laws. “We will continue to follow the instructions of the relevant authorities and take the necessary actions,” they said.
