HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO will sell ‘Kyotanba Chestnut Afternoon Tea’ from October 1 to November 30.
Centering on ‘Kyotanba Chestnuts,’ which have a history of being presented to the imperial court and shogunate, the menu features sweets and savories that utilize ingredients from ‘Autumn in Kyotanba.’ The menu includes seven types of sweets such as Kyotanba Chestnut Mont Blanc, Kyotanba Chestnut Honey Madeleines, and sweets made with Tanba black beans and Tanba plums, as well as six savories including Kyotanba Chestnut Potage, quiche with Kyotanba Town’s hatakeshimeji mushrooms and Wachi black edamame, and dishes made with wild boar and Kyotanba shiitake mushrooms.
The venue is THE GARDEN BAR bar & lounge. The tea is served twice a day, at noon and 2:30 PM, each session lasting two hours. The price is 7,100 yen. For an additional 600 yen, guests can enjoy over 20 varieties of drinks, including TWG tea and original mocktails, in a free-flow format. Prices include tax and service charges.
