Regional Plus Wings Takes on Maintenance Operations for AIRDO and Solaseed Air
Regional Plus Wings has been entrusted with managing the maintenance operations for its group companies, AIRDO and Solaseed Air.
The company will delegate management tasks such as maintenance work, quality control, technical management, and production management to Regional Plus Wings, which will establish its own maintenance programs and standards through a maintenance manual and carry out the maintenance work.
This consolidation of the maintenance functions, previously held individually by AIRDO and Solaseed Air, is expected to enhance operational efficiency and improve maintenance quality.
The Maintenance Business Office, which began its operations on October 1, employs a total of 342 individuals—188 from AIRDO and 154 from Solaseed Air. Maintenance is carried out at airports in Tokyo/Haneda, Sapporo/Chitose, Hakodate, Obihiro, Memanbetsu, Miyazaki, Kumamoto, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, and Okinawa/Naha. In Memanbetsu, maintenance work is handled only during seasonal increases in flights, while at other airports, maintenance operations are outsourced.
The new uniform design concept for the mechanics is “unity,” chosen with the aim of combining the aircraft maintenance knowledge and skills fostered by both AIRDO and Solaseed Air, thereby contributing to the support of the group airlines’ operations. The coveralls were designed by Yoshihide Oka of D-Style, and the rainwear by Misa Shibuya of First Design.
