Changi International Airport to Gradually Increase Airport Fees
Changi Airport Group announced it will gradually increase the airport fees from 2025 to 2030.
This adjustment comes as a response to soaring operating costs, including personnel costs and utility bills. Airport workers’ wages have been rising over the past few years, with an expected continuation of this trend.
The Passenger Service and Security Fee (PSSF) for departing and arriving passengers will be increased beginning April 2027. Currently, the fee stands at 46.40 Singapore dollars, and it will be raised by 3 Singapore dollars each year over four years starting from April 2027.
The PSSF for transfer passengers will be increased starting April 2025. It is currently set at 6 Singapore dollars, with an increase of 3 Singapore dollars annually for the first three years, followed by a yearly increase of 1 Singapore dollar for the next three years. This fee had not been raised since 2015 and will be collected from airline tickets issued from January 2025.
For airlines, the Landing, Parking, and Aero-bridge (LPA) charges will be increased annually starting April 2025. An Airbus A320, for example, is currently charged 1,200 Singapore dollars per landing. For the first three years, the increase will be 110 Singapore dollars annually, followed by 65 Singapore dollars per year for the next three years. Major airlines are in consultation, and a 50% discount will be offered over six months.
Changi International Airport aims to expand its network from the current approximately 160 cities to over 200 cities by the mid-2030s.
