Rakuten Card and Mizuho Bank to Issue ‘Mizuho Rakuten Card’
Rakuten Card and Mizuho Bank will start accepting applications and issuing the ‘Mizuho Rakuten Card’ from December 3.
By specifying a Mizuho Bank account for automatic debit, users can earn 1 to 3% of their spending as Rakuten Points, along with various benefits such as free ATM and transfer fees as ‘pleasant perks’ of the ‘Mizuho Mileage Club’. Further benefits, such as integration with a new points service to be provided following the renewal of the Mizuho Mileage Club next spring, are being considered.
There is no annual fee. The international brand is Visa, offering Visa Touch, Rakuten Edy functions, and complementary overseas travel accident insurance. It can also be issued as a second Rakuten Card.
To commemorate the launch, a ‘Mizuho Rakuten Card Launch Campaign’ will be held. New members who use their card and set up a Mizuho Bank account will receive 13,000 points.
Mizuho Bank has about 24 million personal customer accounts, while Rakuten Card boasts over 31.44 million issued cards. Both companies along with the Mizuho and Rakuten Groups aim to explore various services in collaboration, aiming for greater convenience for customers.
