Japan Airlines (JAL) will expand operations of the Airbus A350-1000 on the Tokyo/Haneda to London/Heathrow route, moving to daily flights starting January 2, 2025.
Since October 24, the airline has begun deploying the aircraft on this route, operating every other day. The flight duration is 14 hours and 5 minutes from Tokyo/Haneda and 14 hours from London/Heathrow.
The Airbus A350-1000 is set to be JAL’s new international flagship, succeeding the Boeing 777-300ER as the main aircraft on international routes. The cabin is configured in a four-class arrangement with 239 seats; 6 first class seats in a ‘1-1-1’ configuration, 54 business class seats in a ‘1-2-1’ setup, 24 premium economy class seats in a ‘2-4-2’ configuration, and 155 economy class seats in a ‘3-3-3’ layout. For the first time in JAL’s history, both first and business classes feature enclosed suites with doors. The in-flight entertainment (IFE) system offers 4K resolution monitors for all classes and can connect to wireless headphones via Bluetooth.
JAL anticipates having eight Airbus A350-1000 aircraft by the end of this fiscal year, with seven already received.
