Etihad Airways Opens a Dedicated Lounge for U.S. Preclearance in Abu Dhabi
Etihad Airways has opened the ‘Etihad America Preclearance Lounge’ at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi on December 30, targeting passengers bound for the United States.
Located just off the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance Facility, eligible passengers can access the lounge after completing the entry formalities for the United States. Direct boarding from the lounge is available for some flights. Passengers are also encouraged to start their journey from the first-class and business-class sections of the main terminal.
Eligible individuals include The Residence, first-class, and business-class passengers, along with Etihad Guest Platinum and Emerald members. Paid access may also be available depending on space.
By completing U.S. immigration and customs inspections at the Preclearance Facility, passengers can arrive in the U.S. as if they were domestic travelers, thus connecting after arrival. This is the only facility of its kind in the Middle East.
Etihad Airways currently operates four routes connecting Abu Dhabi with Boston, Chicago, New York/John F. Kennedy, and Washington. The airline will start service to Atlanta in July.
