Kinki Nippon Tourist has begun selling official tour packages for Kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjuro’s overseas performance in Bangkok, Thailand.
The overseas performance by the thirteenth-generation Ichikawa Danjuro Hakuen, titled “Japan Theater -KABUKI- ‘Otoko Date Hana Kuruwa’ by Ichikawa Danjuro XIII,” will be held on April 25 and 26 at the Muangthai Ratchadalai Theatre. This marks Danjuro’s first overseas performance since the eleventh-generation Ichikawa Ebizo’s performance at Carnegie Hall in New York in March 2016.
There are three tour options departing from the Tokyo metropolitan area, including 3-night 4-day and 3-night 5-day packages starting on April 23. In addition to VIP seating for the performance, a dinner with Danjuro and other cast members will be held before the show. The tour price starts at 255,000 yen, with additional charges for fuel surcharges and various taxes.
The application period for the lottery is from 6 p.m. on January 24 to February 6. Lottery results will be communicated via email after February 13.
