KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to Cut 250 Jobs
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced plans to cut 250 jobs in its indirect departments.
The affected employees are those not directly involved in operations, such as pilots and cabin crew, and prior notice has been given to labor unions.
President & CEO Marjan Rintel commented, “We strive to avoid compulsory layoffs, but we cannot exclude the possibility beforehand.” The airline also intends to continue hiring for positions that are difficult to fill in the current labor market in order to maintain operational capabilities as much as possible.
As part of its 450 million-euro performance improvement strategy, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has decided to postpone the construction of two buildings, including its new headquarters, aiming to increase productivity by at least 5%.
