Turkish Airlines Launches Amenity Kits Inspired by Turkey’s World Heritage Sites
Aichi Prefecture will display the 10th Mitsubishi SpaceJet flight test aircraft at the Aichi Aviation Museum.
The Mitsubishi SpaceJet is a regional jet developed by Mitsubishi Aircraft. The aircraft was completed in January 2020 and made its maiden flight at Nagoya Airport on March 18 of the same year. To obtain type certification, various tests including cabin air conditioning (wind direction, wind speed, temperature) and performance around the Passenger Door were conducted, accumulating 48 flight hours.
The Aichi Aviation Museum opened in 2017 within Nagoya Airport, focusing on disseminating information and fostering human resources in the aviation industry. In fiscal year 2025, they plan to conduct detailed investigations for the exhibit, and will temporarily close for about six months in the first half of 2026 for installation work, with the public opening expected in the second half of 2026.
Hideaki Omura, Governor of Aichi Prefecture, commented, “Although the development of the SpaceJet has been halted, the development of the completed aircraft business is essential for the advancement of Japan’s aviation industry. Through the SpaceJet exhibition, we hope to convey to future generations the history of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ courageous challenge to develop Japan’s first domestically produced passenger jet after the war, and to further advance the aviation industry. Additionally, the Aichi Aviation Museum, which already features Japan’s first domestic passenger aircraft, the ‘YS-11’, will become a unique exhibit showcasing the history of challenges in domestic passenger aircraft development with the new addition of the SpaceJet.”
