Hotel Gajoen Tokyo to Undergo Full Renovation
ANA InterContinental Tokyo has completed a major renovation that began in October 2023.
Aiming to enhance its position in the luxury hotel market, the hotel has renovated 759 of its 844 rooms, bringing the total number of guest rooms to 801. The 36th floor has been expanded to include the “Club InterContinental Lounge,” and renovations have also been made to the “Atrium Lounge” and “Cascade Café” on the lobby floor, as well as the “MIXX Bar & Lounge” on the 36th floor.
The “Club InterContinental Lounge” has been expanded to 900 square meters with approximately 200 seats, combining with the existing 35th-floor area. It offers a panoramic view of landmarks like the Imperial Palace and the National Diet Building. Its interior features a design resonating with the Japanese traditional restoration technique “Kintsugi” on the 35th floor, and is expressed in a design theme of a “Japanese garden,” using subdued color tones.
The Club InterContinental floors have been expanded from the previous four to six layers, spanning from the 30th to the 35th floor. There are now a total of 193 “Club InterContinental” room categories, including 92 suites.
Newly added rooms include 60 “Mizu Suites” and 6 “Sora Suites.” The “Mizu Suites” are converted from single rooms by connecting them to adjacent double rooms, ensuring a higher level of comfort. “Sora Suites” feature a living room separate from the bedroom, with a walk-in closet next to the entrance, making them suitable for long business stays or family visits.
Renovated guest rooms on floors 7 to 26 have a cool color scheme, while those on the 27th floor and above use warm color schemes. Despite this differentiation, elements like carpets, headboard walls, and pendant lighting feature geometric patterns inspired by origami folds, creating a sense of cohesion with traditionally Japanese colors applied to chairs and cushions, reflecting a harmonious
