JR West Operates Sightseeing Train ‘Hana Akari’ for Osaka-Kansai Expo Between Osaka and Onomichi
Hanshin Electric Railway will introduce the new express train “3000 Series” starting in the spring of 2027.
The train will be composed of six cars. The concept is “Kakeru,” which embodies “Connecting important things tightly,” “Running with speed as an express train,” “Soaring towards further growth in the future,” and “Building bridges between people and society,” which is reflected in its design and construction.
The exterior will feature “Re Vermilion,” inheriting the image of the “Akado-sha” vermilion color. By implementing the latest SynTRACS rail drive system, the train will reduce power consumption by approximately 60% compared to the 8000 series.
Additionally, the company will introduce its first reserved seating service. One of the six cars of the 3000 series will be designated for reserved seats.
While the 8000 series trains will change their design to the vermilion of ‘Akado-sha,’ other existing express trains will gradually transition to the “Re Vermilion” design. This aims to establish the color image of “Hanshin express trains as vermilion.”
