The Japan Tourism Promotion Association will provide the ‘National Tourism Information Database’ to Google.
The ‘National Tourism Information Database’ is managed by the Japan Tourism Promotion Association, collecting and organizing approximately 120,000 local tourism information items across the country to promote domestic tourism, with the cooperation of prefectures, cities, and municipalities.
The Japan Tourism Promotion Association is advancing the ‘Japan Tourism Promotion Digital Platform (Digipla)’ project, which was adopted by the tourism agency’s DX demonstration project. In the tourism agency’s ‘Demonstration Project to Promote Data Collaboration among Businesses for Regional Economic Revitalization,’ efforts are being made to disseminate and strengthen tourism information both domestically and internationally in Japan.
They aim to gradually start providing information from the national tourism information database to Google Business Profiles and Google Search, enhancing the ability to disseminate tourism information further.
