Blue Impulse Succeeds in ‘Re-challenge’ at Expo After 35 Years in Osaka
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force is conducting a demonstration flight by the aerobatic team “Blue Impulse” around the Osaka/Kansai Expo venue today, July 13.
Blue Impulse will take off from Kansai International Airport around 2:40 PM, flying over southern Osaka Prefecture, Osaka Castle, Tower of the Sun, and over Hirakata Park, conducting their performance around Yumeshima from 3 PM to 3:15 PM. Blue Impulse also performed a demonstration flight at the 1970 Osaka Expo, drawing the letters “EXPO’70.”
Some domestic airlines have indicated that flight delays may occur due to the demonstration flight. Additionally, Hanshin Expressway will temporarily close parking areas (PA) on the Hanshin Expressway Bayshore Route and Osaka Port Route for simultaneous closure.
A demonstration flight was also planned for the opening day of the Osaka/Kansai Expo on April 13 but was canceled due to bad weather. It was also conducted yesterday, July 12.
