DHL Supply Chain Builds Logistics Center Near New Chitose Airport
Japan Airlines (JAL) will open the special seats “JAPAN AIRLINES TERRACE SUITE,” where guests can watch games in a private space, and a sports bar-style dedicated lounge “JAPAN AIRLINES LOUNGE” at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO in Odaiba, Tokyo, Japan, which opens on October 3.
TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO is a multi-purpose arena that can host sports as well as music concerts. After opening, ALVARK TOKYO of Japan’s professional men’s basketball B.League will use it as their home arena. The facility is operated by Toyota Alvark Tokyo, and JAL has acquired the naming rights for the special seats and the lounge.
The Terrace Suites number six in total, four of which include a private room. Capacity is 15 people for suites with a private room and 12 without. The distance from the terrace to the court is about 18 meters, offering an immersive viewing experience. Interiors share the keyword “TOKYO,” with each room featuring a different concept. Suites are sold per game: 1,000,000 yen per game with a private room and 800,000 yen without. Guests receive a “JAL Original Lounge Aroma” as a souvenir.
In the lounge adjacent to the Terrace Suites, buffet-style dining will feature a combination of Tokyo-inspired and international dishes. They will also serve iced coffee previously offered on JAL flights and in airport lounges, as well as “Re FLY,” an original craft gin made using coffee grounds from the airport lounge. The lounge accommodates up to 276 guests, and game seats with lounge access will also be sold. These are sold by the season, starting at 2,160,000 yen per unit (two seats).
JAL is promoting its “JAL Mile Life Initiative” to expand opportunities to use miles in everyday life. At a preview event held on August 28, Yasushi Omori, Head of JAL’s Mileage & Lifestyle Business Division, explained, “Until now, miles have mainly been used for air travel, but going forward we want to offer special experiences that naturally blend into our customers’ lifestyles.” He described this initiative as “a symbol of that,” and said that starting in mid-October, JAL plans to launch a service for JAL-VISA card members allowing them to redeem miles for tickets with game-viewing benefits, including access to the Terrace Suites and lounge.
