i-mobile has begun offering travel experience-based return gifts on Furunavi Travel—part of the Furunavi hometown tax donation website (Japan’s Furusato Nozei program)—for Tokyo’s Ota Ward, Gujo City in Gifu Prefecture, and Sendai City in Miyagi Prefecture.
At eligible hotels and restaurants, including Hotel Asyl Tokyo Kamata, Gujo Hachiman Hotel Sekisuien, and Hotel JAL City Sendai, points can be redeemed toward payment at a rate of 1 point = 1 yen.
Furunavi Travel is a service that lets donors receive “Furunavi Travel Points,” non-expiring electronic points that can be used at partner hotels, restaurants, and other merchants in the municipality to which you donate, as their thank-you gifts. The donation amount can be set freely from 10,000 yen or more, in 100-yen increments, and points equivalent to 30% of the donation amount are granted immediately.
