Rokkatei to Open Southern California Store on Sept. 10, Its First Overseas Location
JR-West SC Development will reopen the commercial area of the “South Gate Building,” directly connected to JR Osaka Station in Osaka, Japan, as “LUCUA SOUTH” in April 2026.
The South Gate Building is undergoing its first large-scale renovation since opening, in collaboration with JR-West’s Osaka Station City and Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores. LUCUA SOUTH will occupy floors 10 through 15.
Floors 10 to 13 will form “LUCUA Characters World,” one of the largest character-themed zones in Japan, while floors 14 and 15 will become “LUCUA SOUTH DINING,” restaurant floors catering to a wide range of needs and occasions. The Daimaru Umeda store’s event hall on the 15th floor will be converted into dining establishments. The total floor area will be approximately 33,000 square meters, with about 16,000 square meters of sales floor area.
In early April 2026, parts of floors 13 to 15 will open first, with additional sections launching in phases over roughly a year and a half. As a result, LUCUA Osaka will operate as a three-building complex.
