On September 2, the Jordan Tourism Board held the “Jordan Tourism Seminar and Business Meeting” in Tokyo, Japan.
The number of Japanese travelers to Jordan was approximately 13,000 in 2019. Post-pandemic recovery reached around 4,000 in 2024, and in 2025 the figure had already exceeded 3,000 by July. The Board believes that Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai is helping drive this growth. While recognizing that Jordan is not yet a major destination for Japanese travelers, it remains optimistic about the potential of the Japanese market.
Abed Al-Razzaq Arabiyat, Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, explained the country’s appeal: “We believe Japanese people are interested in Jordan. However, awareness tends to focus only on major attractions such as the Dead Sea and Petra. Jordan is rich in biodiversity and is like an open-air museum, offering a unique natural environment that visitors can enjoy.”
Nasser Shraideh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Japan, added: “When you actually visit, Jordan delivers a moving, memorable experience. We warmly invite Japanese travelers to come.”
