Japan Airlines (JAL) will maintain the same level of its international fuel surcharge for tickets issued from December onward.
The surcharge is determined based on the two-month average market price of Singapore kerosene for jet fuel, converted into Japanese yen using the two-month average exchange rate. For August–September, the average Singapore kerosene market price was USD 85.72 per barrel and the exchange rate was JPY 147.80 to USD 1, resulting in a yen-converted amount of JPY 12,670.
For tickets issued from December 1 through January 31, 2026, for itineraries originating in Japan, the one-way surcharge will be: South Korea and the Russian Far East JPY 2,500; East Asia excluding South Korea and Mongolia JPY 6,200; Guam, Palau, the Philippines, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Russia (Irkutsk) JPY 8,000; Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Russia (Novosibirsk) JPY 13,000; Hawaii, Indonesia, India, and Sri Lanka JPY 16,000; and North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania (excluding Hawaii) JPY 25,000.
