British Airways has opened new lounges at Miami International Airport and Dubai International Airport.
Working with the global architecture and design firm Gensler, the airline has adopted a new design concept for the first time. The spaces are designed to be warm, intuitive, and restorative for both mind and body.
In Miami, the design incorporates the city’s Art Deco style, and large windows offer sweeping views over the airport. At around 1,300 square meters, it is the largest lounge outside London. It comprises five zones, featuring a bar, a main dining space, focus pods, and a central lounge.
The lounge serves a wide selection of spirits and beers, including classic cocktails and mocktails and local ales, highlighted by the lounge-exclusive “Prickly Margarita.” In the self-service dining area, dishes using local ingredients with a British twist include “Local Papaya and Lacinato Kale Salad” and “Sautéed South Florida Flounder.”
For First Class customers, the Concorde Dining Room offers dishes such as “Roasted Wagyu Striploin with Roasted Trumpet Mushrooms and Truffle Sauce” and “Roasted Diver Scallops,” along with Champagne and English sparkling wines.
In Dubai, the design is inspired by the UAE’s filigree patterns and architecture, and spans about 540 square meters. The chandelier in the main dining area incorporates the airline’s iconic Speedmarque.
The self-service dining area offers a broad menu including Arabic breakfasts, a mezze selection, cakes, and a cheese board. In addition to premium Champagne and English sparkling wines, guests can enjoy cocktails such as the Dubai Chocolate Martini and the “Bucks Free Fizz,” made with fresh orange juice and Lyre’s Classico Grande non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
Coffee is provided by Coffee Planet, a UAE brand known for top-quality Arabica beans, and teas are served from Birchall, the airline’s new global British tea partner.
In the Concorde Dining Room, Middle Eastern specialties such as Arabic mezze, sweet desserts, and Umm Ali are joined by British favorites including the famous Concorde Wagyu Burger and Scottish smoked salmon.
