Trip.com has released the latest global restaurant rankings from its gourmet guide content, “Trip.Gourmet.”
The rankings cover more than 18,000 restaurants in 68 countries and regions worldwide, with this year’s theme being “New Coordinates of Flavor.” By combining user reviews with evaluations from experts, Trip.Gourmet selects top restaurants in three categories: fine dining, must-visit restaurants, and hometown flavors. The “hometown flavors” category focuses mainly on Japan, South Korea, mainland China, and countries in Southeast Asia, making it easier for overseas residents and travelers to find cuisine from their home country in the places where they stay.
In the fine dining category, the highest “Black Diamond” rank was awarded to restaurants such as “Plénitude” in France, “SÉZANNE” in Japan, “La Pergola” in Italy, and “Odette” in Singapore. Restaurants that emphasize sustainability, including “Narisawa” in Japan and “Vanderlyle” in the United Kingdom, are highlighted, as well as Japanese cuisine restaurants such as “Sushi Harasho” in Osaka and “Matsukawa” in Tokyo. In modern gastronomy, restaurants like “Alchemist” in Copenhagen, “Noma” in Denmark, and “Junsik” in Seoul are mentioned as popular choices.
Other trends introduced include fusion cuisine represented by “Sola” in Paris and “Potong” in Bangkok; plant-based cuisine offered by “Lamdre” in Beijing and “Cookies Cream” in Berlin; and high-end Chinese restaurants such as “Xin Rong Ji” (新荣记) and “Lung King Heen” (龙景轩). Immersive, experience-based dining examples that showcase the diversification of dining experiences include “Le Petit Chef” in Kuala Lumpur, “Ocean Restaurant” in Singapore, and “Elisa Floating Restaurant” in Vietnam.
