Hokkaido Air System (HAC) will add more flight cancellations due to inspection and maintenance work on the aircraft that was classified as having a serious incident.
Maintenance is underway on the aircraft that experienced an engine malfunction on flight JL2823 from Sapporo/Okadama to Akita on December 11 (ATR42-600, registration: JA14HC). HAC has newly decided to cancel an additional 20 flights operated between January 15 and 18. Furthermore, 44 flights will be delayed by up to one hour.
As a result, the total number of flights canceled due to the incident has reached 178. The airline expects to resume operations of the aircraft within the month.
