Applications for the lottery to obtain ticket purchase time slots for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, to be held in 2028 in the United States, opened at 10:00 a.m. local time on January 14.
The lottery covers all sports, and winners will be allocated specific time slots during which they can purchase tickets. The purchasing period runs from April 9 to 19. Those who are allocated a time slot will be notified between March 31 and April 7. Ticket prices start at 28 US dollars.
Those who are not allocated a time slot this time, as well as those who purchase fewer than the maximum of 12 tickets, will automatically be entered into subsequent lotteries. Local residents will be able to participate in a presale. Tickets for the Paralympic Games are scheduled to go on sale in 2027.
The Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games will be held from July 14 to 30, 2028. This will be the third time that the Olympic Games are held in Los Angeles. A total of 36 sports and 351 events will be contested, with baseball/softball, cricket, lacrosse, squash, and flag football added as new sports.
