IHG Opens voco Times Square – Broadway, Its Largest voco Hotel in the Americas
Hoshino Resorts will open “Hoshinoya Nara Prison” on June 25.
The property will offer 48 suite rooms in total, including room types created by horizontally and lengthwise connecting former cell blocks, based on the concept of an “Important Cultural Property at Dawn.” The interiors will retain hand-laid brick walls, iron pillars, and wood panels, while clearly separating spaces such as bedroom, living room, and dining area.
In addition to guest rooms, the facility will feature a reception, a main lounge, a dining room, and a dining lounge. Meals will be served in a separate dining building, offering French course meals incorporating Japanese elements.
The former Nara Prison is a red-brick building constructed in 1908 using the Haviland System, and was designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan in 2017. Within the grounds, the day-use facility “Nara Prison Museum,” which introduces the history and facilities of the site, will also open on April 27.
Access: approximately 10 minutes by car from JR Nara Station, and approximately 6 minutes by car from Kintetsu Nara Station.
