fav hospitality group held the grand opening of “edit x seven Setouchi Shodoshima” on March 5. It had a soft opening on January 26.
The property consists of two 8‑story buildings, the WEST wing and the EAST wing. Guest rooms are available in 9 different types across 45 rooms in total, including penthouses of over 140 square meters, terrace bunks, terrace twins, garden suites with plunge pools, and Japanese modern rooms. Some rooms offer sweeping views of the Seto Inland Sea. Panasonic Nanoe hair dryers and hair irons are installed in selected guest rooms and in the thermal spa.
Inside the property, there is a thermal spa featuring a Finnish-style sauna with an automatic löyly (auto-roulu) function that can accommodate up to 20 people, a cold bath with water at 15 degrees Celsius and a depth of 1.2 meters, an outdoor relaxation area, an infinity pool, indoor baths, and a jacuzzi.
The restaurant serves Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine using vegetables and seafood from Shodoshima, as well as olive beef and olive yellowtail raised on feed that includes Shodoshima’s specialty olives. The drink menu includes local sake from Shodoshima, wine, craft beer, cocktails, and more.
