JAL and HAC Launch Full-Scale Operation of “JAL SMART AIRPORT” at Sapporo Okadama Airport
Cathay Pacific Airways will open its First Class lounge “The Wing” at Hong Kong International Airport on April 22.
The airline continues its collaboration with Studioilse, led by London-based designer Ilse Crawford, further enhancing comfort and privacy while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The iconic green onyx remains the key element of the space, while walnut has been introduced as the primary wood to add warmth and depth, with a variety of finishes and detailing. Granite is used for the flooring for the first time, paying homage to the history of traditional Chinese architecture. A new collection of furniture and lighting made from premium materials and based on ergonomic design is also being introduced.
At the centre of the atrium is a green onyx bar, a signature of Cathay Pacific, accompanied by a self-service pantry offering a wide selection of light snacks and bite-sized dishes. The lounge provides a high level of choice and flexibility, ranging from diverse breakfast options including lighter, health-conscious dishes, to afternoon tea, and bistro-style dining in the evening.
In the dining room, guests can enjoy à la carte table service featuring classic Asian dishes and international favourites. The renewed menu has been designed to bring out the best of each ingredient. Regionally inspired Chinese cuisine is also served in partnership with Mott 32.
The private booth area “The Retreat” is being introduced following its rollout at “The Pier”. It features seven private booths where guests can receive leg, neck, and shoulder massages. In the shower suites, which use advanced water and lighting technology, guests can relax in different modes such as cleanse, refresh, or relax.
The lounge also features “The Bureau”, a fully enclosed private workspace ideal for focused work or small meetings. Travellers can choose between two lighting modes, “Engaged” and “Focused”, allowing easy customisation of the environment to match their preferred working style. “The Alcove” is equipped with multi-purpose booths, each with a compact table and charging facilities.
The lounge is located on the east side of Terminal 1 at Hong Kong International Airport in Hong Kong, China. Going forward, the airline’s business class lounge “The Wing” will be temporarily closed for renovation and is scheduled to reopen in 2027.
