Narita International Airport, gaaboo, and Chikyū no Arukikata (“Globe-Trotter Travel Guidebook”) will release a new guidebook titled “Chikyū no Arukikata Narita Airport and Airport City” in February 2027.
For the first time in the domestic edition of the travel guide series, the book will focus on Narita Airport and the surrounding Airport City area as a single airport metropolitan region, set against the backdrop of Narita Airport’s second expansion project, including new and expanded runways, and the “SORATO NRT Airport City Concept.” It will delve into the appeal of local industries, tourism, transportation, and historical culture. Targeting Narita Airport and the surrounding municipalities, it will comprehensively introduce basic information, maps, transportation, climate, history, and culture, as well as food and drink, shopping, accommodation, travel preparation, and word-of-mouth comments from local residents and airport users.
From April 21 to July 31, the organizers are conducting a survey of Narita Airport users, residents of the Airport City area, and readers, inviting submissions of cover design ideas, recommended spots, and unique local topics. Responses are accepted via the Narita Airport website and social networking sites, as well as the travel guide brand’s social networking sites. In addition, collection boxes have been installed near information counters in each terminal at Narita Airport and at 11 locations within the Airport City area. Fifty respondents will be selected by lottery to receive either an original Chikyū no Arukikata QUO card or a set of original Narita Airport merchandise.
The guidebook will be in an A5 modified format with 320 pages. Both print and digital editions are scheduled to be sold at bookstores and online bookstores throughout Japan. The price will be 2,420 yen (tax included).
