
Major Flight Disruptions in Japan After Air Traffic Control System Failure
JAL JTA Sales and JALUX have launched a new direct-from-source project to deliver fresh “nama maguro” (raw tuna) produced in Okinawa Prefecture to the Tokyo metropolitan area in Japan.
Under this project, “nama maguro” landed in Okinawa Prefecture is transported by air without ever being frozen and delivered to stores in the Tokyo metropolitan area and Nagoya within 24 hours, maintaining a high level of freshness. Sakashita Suisan handles tuna procurement and processing, JAL CARGO is in charge of air transport, and Seijo Ishii is responsible for sales. Sales began on April 10 at select Seijo Ishii stores, using special packaging bearing the “Delivered from the Sky” logo.
The participating stores are Seijo Ishii’s Seijo, Aobadai, Oimachi, Jiyugaoka, Todoroki, Ikejiri-Ohashi, Kakinokizaka, Hamadayama, Tokyo Dome, Trie Keio Chofu, Ishikawabashi, and Nagoya Central Garden locations.
