Japan Airlines to Cancel Tokyo Haneda–Doha Flights Until July 1
United Airlines will resume operations on the Tokyo/Narita–Chicago/O’Hare route from October 24.
The airline will operate one roundtrip per day, using Boeing 787-8 aircraft. The flight time will be 11 hours and 50 minutes from Tokyo/Narita, and 13 hours and 35 minutes from Chicago/O’Hare.
Following the expansion of arrival and departure slots at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, this route had been transferred to the Tokyo/Haneda–Chicago/O’Hare route in July 2020. The schedule is designed to provide connections, via the networks of United Airlines and All Nippon Airways (ANA), to 21 cities across the Asia-Pacific region.
Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances, commented, “We provide a premium onboard experience for both business and leisure customers, while offering the flexibility to continue their journeys on United Airlines to attractive destinations across Asia such as Cebu, Palau, and Ulaanbaatar, or on our partner airline ANA to cities such as Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.”
As a result, this winter United will operate up to 13 roundtrips per day between four airports in Japan and the U.S. mainland. In 2025, the airline had transported more than 1.8 million passengers between the two countries. In addition, United has announced the launch of a Sapporo/Chitose–San Francisco route.
