Skymark Airlines has introduced a new rule from June 1 that allows flight crew to wear sneakers.
In addition to the traditional black leather shoes, crew members are now allowed to wear solid black sneakers with soles less than 3 centimeters in height.
In a survey conducted among flight crew, about 80% viewed the wearing of sneakers positively. Reflecting these opinions, the airline decided to introduce the change as a dress code that balances safety and ease of working. It is expected to reduce physical strain and ensure safety during long working hours and external aircraft inspections in bad weather, as well as to improve mobility in emergencies.
