JAL Launches “JAL Jubilee Express” Special Livery for Tokyo DisneySea 25th Anniversary
On June 5, Embraer carried out a projection mapping display on the Christ the Redeemer statue that stands atop Corcovado Hill in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The event was held on the eve of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro from June 6 to 8. It was designed to welcome airline industry executives gathering from around the world and to call for joint efforts toward a sustainable future for aviation.
The projected images highlighted initiatives in sustainable aviation technologies, such as reducing carbon dioxide emissions and lowering noise through the E2 family of aircraft. The E2 is driving fleet renewal at airlines including Azul Brazilian Airlines, and LATAM Airlines is also scheduled to introduce the type.
A portion of the cost of this projection mapping will be donated to support a vocational training center for women operated by Obra Social Reste Um Sol, a member organization of the “Sustainable Christ Consortium.” The center promotes independence, employment support, and entrepreneurship for women in socially vulnerable situations.
Since its founding in 1969, Embraer has delivered more than 9,000 aircraft. Today, an Embraer aircraft takes off somewhere in the world every 10 seconds, carrying more than 150 million passengers a year.
