Ohsho Food Service to Establish Wholly Owned Subsidiary in Australia
Rerhi will revise the usage fees for the Ponshukan Sake Tasting Counter from July 1.
The price for five coins, which is currently 500 yen, will be raised to 1,000 yen for five coins. The price has been unchanged for 31 years since the opening, but the increase is being implemented due to inflation far exceeding expectations. The change applies to the sake tasting counters at the Ponshukan Echigo-Yuzawa Station store, Nagaoka Station store, and Niigata Station store. The system allowing tastings from one cup per one sake tasting coin will continue.
In conjunction with the price increase, the facility plans to add experience menus that enhance the enjoyment of Japanese sake, such as recommendations by a Japanese sake concierge, pairings of tasting brands and food, comparative tastings using different sake cups, and tasting courses grouped by type or theme.
Ponshukan is a retail and experience facility that handles Japanese sake from Niigata Prefecture and local specialty products. In addition to selling souvenirs and alcoholic beverages, it offers coin-based tasting experiences of multiple sake brands.
