
Etihad Airways to Offer Free Medical Travel Insurance for Abu Dhabi Visitors
Air Canada and the Abra Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build a broad and long-term strategic partnership.
The MOU was signed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting was held. The final agreement is subject to subsequent documentation and regulatory approval.
The main elements of the partnership include: strengthening connectivity between Canada and key Latin American markets; deepening cooperation in sales and distribution; exploring a joint business on selected routes between Canada and Latin America; expanding codeshare cooperation, including between Latin America and other international markets via Canada; enhancing the passenger experience through coordinated airport services, harmonized baggage rules, and improved handling during disruptions; strengthening the linkage between the two networks’ mileage programs; and exploring cargo cooperation.
The Abra Group owns Avianca Airlines and GOL Linhas Aéreas (GOL Airlines). It employs approximately 30,000 people and operates more than 300 aircraft, serving over 145 cities in 25 countries.
