52-Hour Limit, 4,600 Personnel Effort: Details of the Shibuya Station Construction Halting Half of the Yamanote Line
JR Kyushu has started bus substitution services on the Kyūdai Main Line between Yufuin and Shonai stations from July 6.
Train operations on this section have been suspended due to embankment collapse damage caused by the heavy rain from July 1 to 2. In addition, some trains between Kurume and Yufuin stations and between Shonai and Oita stations have had their destinations changed and are operating with reduced frequency. All Limited Express “Yufu” and “Yufuin no Mori” services are operating in a shortened section between Hakata and Oita stations.
The substitute buses operate 13 services in the direction toward Kurume/Hakata (up) and 16 services in the direction toward Oita (down). They run only on weekdays and do not operate on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. Boarding and alighting locations are next to the Yufu City Tourist Information Center, and in front of Minami-Yufu, Yunohira, and Shonai stations. They can be used with commuter passes and regular tickets.
JR Kyushu expects to resume train operations on the suspended section around mid-July.
