The Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) has announced the winners of the “Tour Grand Prix 2026” and held an awards ceremony.
The Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award went to Club Tourism for its tour titled “Drift Ice Touch & Aurora: Stay at Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel, a Five-Star Inn – The Seven Scenic Views of Drift Ice, 2 Days.” The Commissioner of the Japan Tourism Agency Award was presented to Norinchukin Tour, HIS (H.I.S.), and JTB Global Marketing & Travel. The Excellence Award went to Earth Travel Mito, Kinki Nippon Tourist, and JC Plan, while the Special Jury Prize was awarded to Club Tourism and Hankyu Travel International.
The awards aim to enhance planning and marketing capabilities and to contribute to Japan’s policy of becoming a “tourism-oriented nation” by recognizing outstanding tour products—both overseas and domestic (group tours and custom-made tours)—as well as excellent proposals implemented for inbound tours to Japan. A total of 184 entries were submitted.
Eligible for consideration were planned tours (group tours and custom-made tours) operated between April 2025 and the end of March 2026, along with planning proposals implemented for inbound travel to Japan. Screening was conducted by a selection committee chaired by Yoshiaki Hompo, President of the Asia-Pacific Tourism Exchange Center.
