JR Central Launches Detective Conan Mystery-Solving Shinkansen Campaign
JR East Smart Logistics and Kiviaq have launched a prescription drug locker pickup service using Multi E-Cube, effective June 23.
Customers can pick up prescription medications from Multi E-Cube lockers installed at participating stations. The participating stations are Tokyo, Yurakucho, Shimbashi, Hamamatsucho, Takanawa Gateway, Shinagawa, and Osaki. The service has begun with selected lockers at each station and will be expanded gradually. Medications can be collected within 24 hours after being placed in a locker, during the operating hours of each locker.
Users can select a Multi E-Cube locker as their pickup location through Kiviaq’s official LINE account. Once the dispensed medication has been placed in the locker, users can collect it by entering the six-digit reservation number sent to them on the locker’s control panel. By allowing contactless, in-person-free pickup at stations along everyday commuting and school routes, the service is designed to let users collect medications without being restricted by the hours they are at home, while also taking privacy into consideration for those who do not want family members to know.
The two companies plan to expand the number of participating stations and lockers, while improving the service. More than 1,000 Multi E-Cube lockers have been deployed mainly at stations and facilities in the Tokyo metropolitan area and other regions of Japan, with a target of approximately 2,000 units by the end of fiscal 2030.
