WestJet Flight Attendants Go on Strike
Six domestic airlines will change their baggage check-in deadlines for domestic flights departing from Haneda Airport from September 1.
Japan Airlines (JAL) and Japan Transocean Air (JTA) currently advise passengers to check in baggage approximately 30 minutes before departure, while All Nippon Airways (ANA), AIRDO, Solaseed Air, and StarFlyer set the deadline at 20 minutes before departure. All of these airlines will set the deadline at 30 minutes before departure.
Skymark will continue to maintain its current deadline of 20 minutes before departure. The airline says it will continue to assess the optimal timing and make changes as necessary.
The airlines are also urging passengers to comply with boarding deadlines. Deadlines are set for check-in, baggage check-in, passing through the security checkpoint, and boarding before the scheduled departure time. Passengers will be unable to complete these procedures after the respective deadlines have passed. The departure time is the time when the aircraft begins to move, and passengers generally cannot board after the boarding deadline. As deadlines differ by airline, passengers are encouraged to check each airline’s website.
